My research focuses on the systematics of the genus Bacidia s. lat. (Lecanorales, Ramalinaceae), including the taxonomy, diversity, ecology, phylogeny, and genomics of the studied genus. My research integrates various tools and approaches based on field and herbarium collections, including phylogenetics, bioinformatics, and genomics. I am a classically trained lichen systematist with experience in taxonomy and classification. During my doctoral studies, I became increasingly interested in using robust phylogenetic hypotheses to assess lichen species diversity. Currently, I am especially interested in research questions that can be addressed using high-throughput sequencing and (meta)genomic data.
